Heb 12 :2
”…and run with patience the race set for you”
There is no doubt that we are all engaged in a race of life. In this race, while some are on a marathon, others are running a sprint. Regardless of the type of race you may be involved in, what is important is for you to run in such a way that you receive the victor’s crown.(1 Cor 9: 24).
Fortunately the Bible provides us with some useful tips as to how to run effectively.
- Run the race set for you. (Heb.12:2b)
The desire to outrun others has caused many to derail their course. This Christian race is not a competition, it’s the completion that matters! Paul said, I have finished my course. Are you on course? - Run with a vision.
The Bible says, “write down the vision, and make it plain, so that a herald may run with it” . Hab 2 :2.
The big question is: what is your purpose here on earth? Find the answer and aim at accomplishing it. A great starting place is to look unto Jesus. He will provide the direction. - Run with patience.
Every race requires speed, yet overspeeding can always kill. This is why you need the healthy tension of patience and perseverance in order to run effectively.
Dear friend, I pray for you today, that like Abraham’s servant, may you receive goodspeed to accomplish much within a short time.(Gen 24:12).
When it’s all said and done, may you be able to say with Apostle Paul:
”I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and I have kept the faith.” (2 Tim 4 :7).
Receive grace for your race!
